FSERV (SysReset)  Instructions

-         download SysReset here:

http://uscybersites.net/~sysreset/sysreset253.exe

-         install the program by clicking on the SysReset.exe file, choose a directory

such as

C:\sysreset and click on install

-         this is how the directory will look like

-         double click on the Mirc.exe file to start SysReset and you’ll get a window like this

-         fill in the blanks

-         then move to the server part

-         click on add, write after description purplesurge and after IRC server

irc.purplesurge.com, then click on ok

-         then move to the options part

-         click on perform and fill in the blank with the line /join #poprocksurge and click on ok

-         now whenever you connect you will reach the #poprocksurge room of purplesurge network.

-         You can always use the program to go other networks and/or rooms simply changing the set up

 as you just did.

-         Now u can click on connect to server and start setting up the file server as I am going to explain

-         to start the configuration of the file server go on Sysreset -> file server manager

and you’ll get a window like this:

-         move to the server config tab

-         in the server config window you can find all the basic options of configuration of the Fserv

such as maximum  and minimum bandwidth, number of sends, number of queues and so on.

The image above is an example of a basic configuration.

-         you can also choose an advanced configuration by scrolling the bar on the right so you

get something like this

these are the main features:

Abort Sends if user leaves:

it stops sending the file when the user who is downloading from you leaves

the room

Sends Count toward queues:

if an user is already getting a file from you, this stops him from getting

in your  queue for another one

Assign channels per trigger: allows you to use the triggers only for specific rooms

Clone protection: it forbids a user to queue for a file if he already did it with

a different nick

Color Configuration: allows you to choose the color that your server will have

when a user will use the !list command in the room.

-         now you can move to the file server trigger tab

-         A trigger is a key-word that allows you to enter a Fserv in order to download a file.

Usually from the name of a trigger you can understand the kind of contents of the trigger itself.

-         To add a trigger just click on add and fill the blank as in the example

-         click on ok. Then a new window will ask you to choose a welcome file.

You just need to create a welcome.txt file

(in which you welcome the user to your fserv)

For example welcome to my kelly clarkson fserv, enjoy my files),

save it in your sysreset folder and choose it when asked.

you can also choose not to have any welcome message, you just need to

click on cancel and move to the next step.

-         choose the directory containing the files you want to share under that trigger

-         now you need to click on the trigger you just created, uncheck all channels and

add #poprocksurge.

This way the fserv will show only on the specific chosen room or else you can leave checked all

channels and the serv will work on every room you’ll be in.

-         click on done to close the window

-         once configured, the fserv needs to be activated in this way

(this action needs to be done only the first time that the fserv is set up): sysreset – servers active - on

-         now when a user will type the command !list or !list NickYouChose he will see something like this:

[22:20] -NickIchoose- [Fserve Active] - Trigger:[/ctcp NickIchoose !kelly clarkson] - Sends:[0/1] -

Queues:[0/20] - Record CPS:[0B/s by None] - Files Sent:[0] - Sends Failed:[0] - Accesses:[0] -

Upload Speed:[0B/s] - Download Speed:[0B/s] - SysReset 2.53

and to access your fserv he’ll just need to type /ctcp NickIchoose !kelly Clarkson

-         once accessed he’ll see something like this

the basic commands to be used in the fserv are:

dir: to see the list of the folders and files available

cd + name of the folder: to enter a specific folder

cd.. or cd ..: to exit the folder

get + name of the file: to get the files you want

-         the last necessary step is to upload some addons to your fserv. To do this go to

sysreset – addon manager

-         you’ll get a window like this

you’ll see a list of addons you can use, with the description on what’s their use; you just need to select them

and click  on load.

The find.ini is very important because it allows the search for files in you server. The users will just need

to type in the room @find Kelly for example and a window will open telling them how to trace the file in

your fserv if you have it.
